Regional Workshop on Gender Budgeting
In view of the considerable interest evinced by many States, on the
subject of Gender Budgeting, the Department of Women and Child Development
is holding Regional Workshops, in collaboration with UNDP, to share and
discuss the strategy of the Government on Gender Budgeting and Gender
Mainstreaming with State Governments.
The
first Regional Workshop was organized at IIPA, in
New Delhi
, on 23-24 November 2005. State Secretaries-
Planning, Finance and Women and Child Development,
from eight States of the Northern Region (Uttar
Pradesh, Uttranchal,
Punjab
, Haryana,
Delhi
, Himmachal Pradesh, J&K, Rajasthan) were invited.

presentations covered topics like

Gender Concerns in Select
Sector-Urban Planning and Development, Energy,
Employment Guarantee Programmes, Agriculture etc.

second Regional Workshop was held at Yashada, Rajbhavan
Complex,
Baner Road
, Pune on 15 December 20

. The State Secretaries of Planning, Finance and
Women and Child Development Departments
from Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh,
Goa
,
Gujarat
, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh,
Maharashtra
and Tamil Nadu have been invited to
attend the Workshop

third Regional Workshop was held at Calcutta
on 23 December 2005.
