Part 1: Role of NGOs
What is the support role that NGOs and
civil society have played in the achievement of various
national goals as expressed in the following policy
documents:
· National Plan of Action for Children;
List specific activities that have been
carried out by NGOs for social mobilisation,
awareness
building and for educating communities about
rights and responsibilities related to achievement
of goals for children at the community
level.
Are you encouraging
and providing an interface between government
programmes and the
community level actions? List specific
areas of such cooperation as well as specific instances of
problems and constraints and methods in which
you have been able to overcome them.
What
are the areas that NGOS would like to be involved in the future, for ensuring that Rights
of
Children are realised and in doing so, goals for
children as set globally, nationally, and at State level?
What
are the specific ways that you as a member of the community or an NGO or a community based
organisation can help in monitoring and also
enabling action against violation of child rights and thus
achieving goals e.g. in the areas of child
labour, child trafficking/prostitution, street children,
child
destitution?
Are you already
involved in such activities? If yes, give additional information of the extent to which
you have been able to achieve results and the constraints that you face in
your work related to such
monitoring.
