ARTICLE 24 [HEALTH AND HEALTH SERVICES]

1.  What is the prevalence of HIV/AIDS and measures adopted to promote health information and education on HIV/AIDS among general population? Also on:
  • programmes and strategies developed to prevent HIV
  • measures adopted to assess the occurrence of HIV infection and AIDS among both general population and children-gender, age, rural/urban area
  • treatment and management provided in case of HIV infection and AIDS among children and parents, coverage ensured nationwide, in urban/rural areas.
  • Measures adopted to ensure effective protection and assistance to children who are orphans as a result of AIDS
  • Campaigns, programmes, strategies and other relevant measures adopted to prevent and combat discriminatory attitudes against children infected by HIV/AIDS or whose family/parents have been infected.

2.  Are there any category or group of children who do not enjoy the right to education, the circumstances in which children may be excluded from school temporarily or permanently-disability, deprivation of liberty, pregnancy, HIV/AIDS infection Have any arrangements been made to address such situations and to ensure alternative education? Give disaggregated data- age, gender, region, urban/rural areas, national, social, ethnic origin?
3.  What steps are taken to strengthen the existing national reproductive and child Health Programme, to combat discrimination of HIV/AIDS affected persons by awareness raising & sensitization programmes, to allocate resources along with technical assistance from WHO, UNICEF, UNAIDS & civil society?
